The Oral Round of the 4th Republican Anti-Corruption Conference was held remotely

On 20 March, 2020, the oral round the 4th Republican Conference “The Armenian Context of the Fight against Corruption: Key Priorities and Challenges” organized by the CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia and the Armenian Lawyers’ Association was organized by remote method.

The conference was organized in two rounds: written and oral. The authors of the six reports that scored the most points in the writing round were invited to participate in the oral round, where they presented their reports and answered the questions of the jury members.

The judges of the oral round of the conference were Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, Coordinator of the Secretariat of CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia; Mr. Arkady Sahakyan, Lawyer, Chairman of the Third Composition of the Coalition Governing Board; Board Members of the Armenian Lawyers Association, Anti-Corruption Experts Ms Syuzanna Soghomonyan and Mr. Marat Atovmyan.

The reports of participants were in line with the current anti-corruption policy of Armenia and included the following areas:

  1. Prevention of corruption;
  2. Anti-corruption institutional systems;
  3. Anti-corruption education and public awareness;
  4. Institute of Criminal Liability of Legal Entities in Armenia and Implementation of Anti-Corruption Compliance Programs in the Private Sector in its framework.

According to the results of the written and oral rounds of the conference, Nare Smbatyan, a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the French University in Armenia, won the third place, Christine Tatosyan, a graduate of the Faculty of Business Management of the Armenian State University of Economics was the second, and Yevgenya Hambardzumyan, a graduate of Faculty of Journalism of Yerevan State University, was the first..

The organizers of the conference expressed gratitude to all the participants as well as the supporters. In particular, the “Bookinist” Bookshop Chain, which provided the prize for first place, and the “Ayb Ben Gym” Bookshop, which jointly with the Armenian Lawyers’ Association awarded second and third place prizes.

All participants of the Conference will receive certificates of participation.
