History

On 28 November, 2014, 60 Civil Society Organizations from the regions of Armenia and Yerevan adopted the Declaration on the Establishment of an Anti-Corruption Coalition of CSOs, which established the Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenian Civil Society Organizations (hereinafter referred to as CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition).

Since its inception, to date, as a sovereign union of CSOs and one of the key players in the anti-corruption sector, the CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition Armenian of Armenia has initiated and participated in the implementation of a number of anti-corruption reforms in the RA, including criminalization of illicit enrichment; creation of a legislative framework on the Corruption Prevention Commission; introduction of the Institute of Beneficial Owners in Public Procurement Process; implementation of a number of reforms in business and other sectors. In 2018-19, the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia was actively involved in the development and public discussion of the Anti-Corruption Strategy and its Implementation Plan for 2019-2022; in cooperation with the state, international and local key actors in the field organized the Government-Civil Society International Expert Conference: “RA Anti-Corruption Strategy under International Experience”; carried out professional and awareness events in Yerevan and RA regions; and has also made recommendations, with nearly 90 percent of them being incorporated into the strategy and its implementation action plan.

The Secretariat of the CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia also organized a Government-Civil Society Forum entitled “The Possibility of Introducing Mechanisms of Transitional Justice in the RA in the Light of International Experience” and prepared the report entitled “The Applicability of Transitional Justice Mechanisms in the Republic of Armenia in the Light of International Experience”.

The CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia in cooperation with Armenian Lawyers’ Association operates the Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders.
