Representatives of CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia participated in the Workshop on “Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property without Indictment”

On 22 January, Artyom Mesropyan, CSO Development Programs Coordinator of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, and Movses Aristakesyan, Member of the Governing Board of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia participated in the Workshop on “Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property without Indictment”, organized in the framework of the “Strengthening the institutional Capacity to fight and prevent Corruption in Armenia” implemented by the CoE Yerevan Office.

The workshop aimed at presenting an analysis of the draft law of the Republic of Armenia on Confiscation of Illegal Property based on international experience and incorporating key recommendations and practical challenges for the improvement of the draft law, as well as organizing a discussion on it.

Experts from different countries of the Council of Europe invited during the event shared their experience, followed by active discussions with representatives of the state bodies of the Republic of Armenia and civil society organizations on the best practices for recovering and seizing property illegally obtained in criminal and civil proceedings.
