Secretariat
As a result of the founding meeting of member organizations of the Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenian CSOs held on November 28, 2014, the role of the coalition’s secretariat was assumed by the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO, led by Karen Zadoyan as the coordinator of the secretariat.
The Armenian Lawyers’ Association (ALA) was founded in 1995. The main purpose of establishing the Armenian Lawyers’ Association was to consolidate the potential of lawyers and support Armenia’s development as an independent, democratic, and rule-of-law state. After its establishment, the Armenian Lawyers’ Association actively engaged in Armenia’s social life, aiming to implement its strategic objectives.
Over time, the association focused its activities on providing free legal assistance to socially vulnerable groups of the population and protecting their rights and legitimate interests. At the same time, the organization has invested significant efforts in legal reforms and improving legislation.
For years, the Armenian Lawyers’ Association has been fighting against corruption through its activities, has put forward a number of legislative initiatives, and has strived to create a law-abiding society, an institutional system of anti-corruption bodies, and an anti-corruption environment.
ALA also actively cooperates with international structures for the purpose of exchanging experience and implementing best practices. ALA places great importance on the development of lawyers’ professional capabilities and continuous education. The organization regularly conducts trainings, seminars, and conferences, contributing to the professional growth of the legal community, also applying modern technologies and innovation.
You can follow ALA’s activities on the organization’s official website.
