“Integrity and its Elements”: Regular Distance Learning Course of the Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders took place
On 2 April, 2020, the regular distance learning course of the 5th stream of the Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders took place. The topic of the course was ” Integrity and its Elements: Professional Competence, Accountability, Rules of Ethics and Anti-Corruption Behavior”. Mr. Marat Atovmyan, a Board Member of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, Lawyer/Anti-Corruption Expert delivered the lecture.
According to the lecturer, good governance and integrity complement each other, but good governance is more about state and local government, and integrity should be introduced in any type of organization, regardless of its field of activity, status, ownership or organizational and legal form.
Speaking about professional competence, the lecturer stressed the need for practical knowledge in the education system, as well as the need to strengthen and expand accountability in organizations. He presented the need to observe the rules of ethics in organizations and stressed the need for employees to master the rules. The lecturer noted the importance of the anti-corruption value system to create anti-corruption behavior.
From the point of view of effective public administration, according to the lecturer, it is important that there is mutual agreement, transparency and the ability to respond quickly.
During the course, the students were assigned individual assignments and carried out discussions.
