Syuzanna Soghomonyan on Regulations for Surrendering Impermissible Gifts to the State or Community

Within the framework of the “Let’s Unite Forces to Prevent Corruption” campaign, today, on December 6, Syuzanna Soghomonyan, representative of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association (ALA) and CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, anti-corruption expert, also spoke during the panel discussion titled “Existing Mechanisms on Gift Acceptance Limitations and Recent Legislative Changes” and “Elements of the Integrity System.”
The panel discussion was organized through the efforts of the “Armenia Integrity” program implemented with USAID funding and the Ministry of Justice.
Syuzanna Soghomonyan particularly emphasized the methods of gift disposal, which are presented in the Government’s decision adopted this year. According to it, if the value of gifts exceeds the permissible threshold, they can be used in certain ways. However, for all gifts that are perishable or fall under immediate realization categories, the State Property Management Committee provides conclusions regarding preservation rules.
