Observations and Recommendations of the ALA and the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia on the Draft Amendments to the Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia

On 25.02.2021 the draft law of the Republic of Armenia authored by the deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on making changes and additions to the Constitutional Law “Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia” was published.

We consider that the existing problems in the judicial system of the Republic of Armenia should be solved as a result of systemic and evidence based changes, considering it in the light of constitutional reforms, and not with partial and not justified changes. Moreover, the necessity of the mentioned draft is not justified, it jeopardizes the independence and effectiveness of the activities of lawyers, courts and the SJC for the following reasons.

Here are the suggestions and observations (in Armenian language) of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association and the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia on the problematic provisions of the draft.
