Armenia should have One Universal Tool for evaluating the Public Perception of Corruption, our National One: Syuzanna Soghomonyan

The Presentation of the Alternative Public Monitoring of the Actions of the 4th Anti-Corruption Strategy of the RA to be performed in 2022 took place.

Anti-Corruption Expert of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, attorney Ms Syuzanna Soghomyan, presented the results of monitoring the anti-corruption institutional system and anti-corruption education areas of the Strategy. She noted that the goals of the monitoring are to evaluate the current situation and the level of final implementation of the actions to be performed in 2022 of the Republic of Armenia Anti-Corruption Strategy and its Implementation Action Plan for 2019-2022; to find out the actions, which were performed, performed mostly, partially, not performed or the execution process was suspended, their reasons, perform procedural (quantitative) evaluations of these actions, perform (qualitative) evaluations of the level of impact of actions.

“It is necessary for the RA to have one universal tool for evaluating the public perception of corruption, our national one, so that it does not depend on any international structure. And it will express our needs and expectations,” Syuzanna Soghomyan said.

“Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO, “Europe in Law Association” NGO, the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia, in cooperation with the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, have carried out the alternative public monitoring of the Actions of the Republic of Armenia Anti-Corruption Strategy and its Implementation Action Plan for 2019-2022 to be performed in 2022.

This, among other things, includes, collecting information on the progress of implementing the Strategy’s Action Plans using qualitative and quantitative methods.

The monitoring report was presented on 11 May.
