A New Multi-Stakeholder Whistle-Blowing Platform will be created: the Regular Meeting of the Governing Board of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia was held

On 20 June, the meeting of the Governing Board of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia was held online, which was chaired by the newly elected chairman of the Governing Board of the Coalition Mr. Hakob Avagyan.

During the meeting, the issue of establishing a multi-stakeholder whistleblowing platform was discussed, pointing out its importance in the new anti-corruption strategy. Mr. Karen Zadoyan, the Coordinator of the Secretariat of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, informed that the multi-stakeholder whistle-blowing platform is being established within the framework of the “Multifaceted Whistle-Blowing (WB) Promotion in Armenia” project implemented with the support of the Open Government Partnership and will serve as a platform for promoting reforms and dialogue of CSOs and related bodies.

By the unanimous decision of the members of the Governing Board, the issue of establishing a new Multi-Stakeholder Whistle-Blowing Platform was approved and Mr. Arkady Sahakyan, a member of the Governing Board, was appointed as responsible for the platform.

Emphasizing increasing the effectiveness of the work of the Coalition, it was decided to create a working group for the development of amendments to the regulations of the Coalition. Mr. Movses Aristakesyan, a member of the Governing Board, was appointed the Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Amendments to the Regulations of Coalition.

As part of the agenda of the meeting, one case that took place in Armenia in recent years and contained possible corruption risks was discussed, after which the partiipants discussed another case that took place outside the powers of the state body (in the opinion of several members of the Governing Board of the Coalition). It was decided to make inquiries to the relevant authorities regarding both cases, and after receiving the replies, decide the further actions of the Coalition regarding the issues.
