The Leaders of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association met with the Representatives of the Leadership of the National Transparency Authority of Greece
Within the framework of the 8th International Symposium of Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), Mr. Karen Zadoyan, member of the Anti-Corruption Policy Council, Coordinator of the Secretariat of CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of the RA, President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association (ALA), and Mr. Marat Atovmyan, Anti-Corruption Expert of the Coalition, Vice-President of the ALA, met with the representatives of the National Transparency Authority of Greece (NTA-GR) Mr. Ioannis Foustanakis, Head of Directorate for the Strategic Planning and Behavioral Analysis and Mr. George Kasapas, Head of Unit of Strategic Planning and International Relations.
First the ALA President presented the scope and directions of the main activities of the Corruption Prevention Commission, the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia and the Armenian Lawyers’ Association as well as the course of the anti-corruption reforms implemented in Armenia and the system of anti-corruption institutional bodies. Further, Karen Zadoyan presented the problems of anti-corruption institutional bodies and the scope of possible cooperation with the National Transparency Authority of Greece. Then Marat Atovmyan presented the problems of the system of anti-corruption institutional bodies and the scope of possible cooperation, including the organization of need-based educational visits and courses for representatives of Armenia’s anti-corruption institutional bodies and specialized Civil Society organizations, as well as implementation of other joint anti-corruption programs.
Mr. Ioannis Foustanakis presented the scope of activities of the National Transparency Authority of Greece, recorded results, and emphasized the international cooperation between anti-corruption structures.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of bilateral interest and possible cooperation.
As we reported earlier, Karen Zadoyan and Marat Atovmyan had meetings with the Leadership of Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption, the President of the Italian National Anti-Corruption Authority (ANAC), the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Deputy European Chief Prosecutor of the EU.
Please note the 8th International Symposium of the Hong Kong Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (ICAC), which was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Commission, was held in the period of 22 through 24 May, 2024. It was co-organized by the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) and the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong, China. 500 participants from 60 countries were present at the Symposium.
