This is welcoming, this is our Vision in the Fight against Corruption: Deputy Minister of Education Science, Culture and Sports on the Involvement of Young People in the Fight against Corruption

An online seminar was held on 13 July with the students of Vanadzor High School No. 5 after Vahan Teryan within the framework of the awareness-raising program of the “Youth4Anti-Corruption” project implemented by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association.

Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the ALA, delivered a welcoming speech at the awareness seminar. He thanked Mr. Artur Martirosyan, the RA Deputy Minister of Education Science, Culture and Sports, Mr. Razmik Sargsyan, Political Affairs Officer of the Swedish Embassy, ​​and Ms Naira Ghazaryan, Principal of Vanadzor High School No. 5 after Vahan Teryan, for organizing an interesting event. Karen Zadoyan spoke about the three pillars of the fight against corruption, attaching importance to the work with the representatives of the younger generation.

“This is a unique project, as for the first time we will work with high school students on anti-corruption issues,” Karen Zadoyan said.

Further, Artur Martirosyan, the RA Deputy Minister of Education Science, Culture and Sports, made a welcoming speech, and highlighted the “Youth4Anti-Corruption” project.

“The choice of students to participate in the program is a great testament to the desire to be an active, responsible citizen, to participate in democratic processes in our country, to be a leader in the fight against corruption, which is highly encouraged and welcomed by us. This is our vision in the fight against corruption.” Artur Martirosyan said.

Razmik Sargsyan, Political Affairs Officer of the Swedish Embassy, ​​also made a welcoming speech, noting that this program is especially interesting, and stressed the involvement of young people. According to Razmik Sargsyan, the fact that in the past such programs were an opportunity to simply emerge as an active citizen, now it is practical-required knowledge.

Naira Ghazaryan, Principal of Vanadzor High School No. 5 after Vahan Teryan, thanked for the organized awareness meeting, noting that the students of Vanadzor High School No. 5 will have their active participation in the program. “In many cases, there is a great desire to eradicate corruption, to take an active part, but we do not know how, the Director said:

Ms Zarine Hovhannisyan, Coordinator/Lawyer of the Lori Regional branch of the ALA, said that everyone, regardless of their professional orientation, expected their active participation in the program.

During the seminar, Ms Mariam Zakaryan, representative of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, presented the “Youth4Anti-Corruption” project, and answered the participants’ questions.

More than 40 students participated in the awareness seminar.

The “Youth4Anti-Corruption” project is supported by the Government of Sweden.
