Students of the Anti-Corruption School discussed the Scope of Corruption Crimes and the Issues of International Legal Cooperation
On 22 September, two meetings were held with the students of the 8th Stream of the Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders. The meetings were held at the office of the Armenian Lawyers Association and online, in which the listeners living in the marzes participated as well. During the meeting, the participants discussed the scope of corruption crimes and issues of international legal cooperation, as well as the national system of integrity and its elements.
The listeners of the school and lecturer Ms Syuzanna Soghomonyan had an in-depth discussion about the provisions of the RA Law on Confiscation of Property of Illegal Origin and its issues, such as the reasons for the lack of completed proceedings in the civil trial procedure, the features of the application of the institution of the presumption of innocence in the implementation of these proceedings, as well as certain questions related to the prohibition of giving retroactive effect to the law, protecting property of illegal origin from alienation, applying a measure of preliminary security of claim, return of alienated property, integrity related to acquisition of such property by a third party.
Syuzanna Soghomonyan also presented the system of integrity in the field of public service, its elements, the procedure for issuing a conclusion on the integrity of a public servant by the Corruption Prevention Commission, the problems arising in practice related to its advisory nature, emphasizing the availability of the conclusion on the integrity of a candidate for the position of official to the public.
