The Results of “Illustrate the Truth” and “Tell the Truth” Competitions have been summarized

The Armenian Lawyers; Association of association organized and held drawing and essay competitions entitle “Illustrate the truth” and “Tell the Truth” among schoolchildren and students. About 230 participants from all regions of Armenia registered for the competitions. More than 150 works were received.

The results of the competitions were concluded on 8 December, at the event dedicated to the International Anti-Corruption organized within the framework of the National Awareness Campaign on the Whistleblowing System, in cooperation of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO, the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia and the Constructive Dialogue Network of Armenian CSOs took place. The event was organized in the scope of the “Multifaceted Whistle-Blowing Promotion in Armenia” project implemented by the ALA with the support of the European Union and the “Open Government Partnership Europe” Foundation.

Mr. Karen Karapetyan, Deputy Minister of Justice, Mr. Jan Plesinger, Head of the Political, Press and Information Section of the European Union to Armenia, Ms Lilia Afrikyan, OGP Coordinator/Point of Contact of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Movses Aristakesyan, President of the “Center for Economic Rights” NGO, Chairman of the Governing Board of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, Mr. Artak Saribekyan, the Executive Director of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, and Mr. Arman Petrosyan, Member of the Management Board of the SME Cooperation Association handed the awards and prizes to the winners of the competition.

“The Armenian Lawyers’ Association has been and is moving forward for years under the motto that anti-corruption education is one of the most important mechanisms in the fight against corruption, therefore, we spare no effort to spread it among young people and teenagers, and thus these competitions were organized of this objective,” Ms Anahit Mardoyan, Coordinator of the Competitions, said.

131 participants were registered for the painting competition “Illustrate the Truth”, and 97 participants for the essay competition “Tell the Truth”.

The winners of the painting competition “Illustrate the Truth” are:

  1. Gohar Chitchyan – Gegharkunik Marz, Vardenis region, 12th grade pupil of the secondary school of Kut village,
  2. Nune Alchangyan – Lori Marz, 11th grade pupil of the secondary school of Shahumyan village,
  3. Mariane Nazaryan – Aragatsotn Marz, Argavand Community, painting group at “Art Studio Khachovyan”, 8th grade pupil.
  4. Gayane Muradyan – Shirak Marz, 10th grade pupil of the secondary school of Saralanj village,
  5. Nare Zeynalyan – Ararat Marz, Ararat Community, 9th grade pupil of the secondary school оф Surenavan village.

The winners of the essay competition “Tell the Truth” are:

  1. Susanna Elbakyan – form Karakert village, of Armavir Marz, 1st year student of the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU),
  2. Elen Melkonyan – Gegharkunik marz, Tsovinar village, 11th grade pupil of the secondary school named after A. Khachatryan,
  3. Anahit Baghdasaryan – Armavir Marz, Araks Community, 12th grade pupil of the secondary school of Artimet village,
  4. Sona Yeghiazaryan – Armavir Marz, 8th grade pupil of the secondary school named after K. Harutyunyan of  Mrgastan village,
  5. Maria Minasyan – Ararat Marz, 11th grade pupil of the secondary school No. 2 of Ararat village.

Notably, Alyona Hovhannisyan, a pupil of the secondary school No. 3 of Kapan Community, of Syunik Marz, and Hasmik Badalyan, a pupil of the 12th grade of the secondary school No. 10, were awarded special prizes.
