The 8th Conference of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia took place: the Composition of the 8th Governing Board was formed

On 8 December, 2023, the 8th Conference of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia was held in a hybrid format. The members of the Coalition, which operate in Yerevan, participated directly, and our regional partners joined online.

During the conference, Mr. Karen Zadoyan, the President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, Coordinator of Secretariat of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition presented the report on the activities of the Armenian CSOs’ Anti-Corruption Coalition for the period of 09.12.2022-08.22.2023. He especially noted the significant successes of the Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders organized during that period. The existing problems and obstacles were addressed as well.

Further, reference was made to the new edition of the regulations of Coalition. The main changes developed by the working group established for this purpose by the decision of the Governing Board were presented. The latter will make the operation of the Coalition more effective. In particular, changes in the rotation order of the Governing Board, its structural changes, the rights and responsibilities of members, and other changes were presented.

Karen Zadoyan presented the new strategic plan developed by the Governing Board and the upcoming planned activities.

During the conference, an active discussion regarding both the agenda issues and the anti-corruption fight in Armenia was held.

The last item on the agenda was dedicated to the elections of the new Governing Board of the Coalition. First, the Conference approved the composition of the Board, which will have, 7 members, and then formed the new, 8th Governing Board in the following composition:

  1. “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO, represented by Mr. Karen Zadoyan,
  2. “NGO Center” Civil Society Development NGO, represented by Ms Arpine Hakobyan,
  3. “Civil Society Institute Armenia” NGO, represented by MrArtak Kirakosyan,
  4. “Center for Economic Rights” represented by Mr. Movses Aritsakesyan,
  5. Armenian United Nations Association (AUNA), represented by Ms Armine Podosyan,
  6. “Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises”, represented by Mr. Arkadi Sahakyan,
  7. “Ellegia” Cultural NGO, represented by Mr. Harutyun Aleksanyan.

The Governing Board of the Coalition proposed Movses Aristakesyan to the position of the Chairman of the Governing Board. The proposal was accepted unanimously.
