Representatives of Armenia’s CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition Participated in CPC Workshop

Representatives from 5 member organizations of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia actively participated in a workshop titled “The Importance of Corruption Prevention and the Role of CPC” organized by the Corruption Prevention Commission (CPC) on October 30.

Questions to CPC representatives were posed by M. Aristakesyan, Chairman of the Coalition’s Governing Board, N. Arabachyan, member of “Economic Law Center” NGO, and M. Chakhoyan, President of “Tukhmanuk” NGO.

“The questions raised issues regarding the inaccessibility of declarations, the protected status of most of them, and inadequate response to information about corrupt activities by public employees. Particular emphasis was placed on the widespread corruption in a segment of civil society – CSOs, their networks and foundations – in terms of election fraud, grant program allocation and their effectiveness,” reports Movses Aristakesyan.

It was proposed that the CPC take appropriate initiative to add a section on corruption prevention in the civil society sector to Armenia’s 5th Anti-Corruption Strategy and develop corresponding actions and tools.

During the meeting, Commission member Lilit Aleksanyan also gave a thank-you speech, emphasizing the importance of such thematic meetings for presenting the Commission’s work, exchanging expectations, and strengthening cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, participants expressed their gratitude for the constructive discussions and emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation.
